Flying Cat Marketing

I started at Flying Cat as a VA and within 3 years achieved a promotion to COO. I grew the company alongside the founder from 3 to 30 people and over €1.5M annual revenue.

I gained first hand experience of the chaos, trails and tribulations of the startup world and how to overcome them, or at least create a manageable and enjoyable workplace! And what an pleasure it was.

I created processes and workflows from scratch, hired a team and spearheaded the culture. I had control over finances, forecasting and budgets. I led quarterly business meetings, set and achieved OKRs and managed performance. I also had to make hard decisions for the sake of the business. I made mistakes there that I’ve now learnt from so they’ll never be made again, and I gained the luxury of hindsight in these situations.

Some of my biggest learnings came from my time here. Learnings in business, startup and agency life and marketing.

I worked with UserActive as an external Operations Consultant when Peter got in touch to draw on my agency experience and find out if there’s anything that they could be doing more efficiently.

I did a deep dive into their Operations by completing a full audit, and presented an in depth diagnosis of my findings and recommendations.

I worked with Peter to prioritise and deliver on projects with the highest impact, that needed someone with the expertise to complete.

I now work with UserActive on an ongoing basis, where I join their quarterly business meetings, hold the team accountable for goals based on these, and work with Peter on organisation and finances.
